I Drown My Fears In Hope
A backlit projection of an actor in front of a screen. They pick up a paintbrush and draw the outline of a house around them. Draws a sun in the sky. They draw a garage with a car in it. They draw a gas sign down the road that says “$1.05”….crosses that out…makes a sign with an electricity symbol on it. Comes back to the sun and draws in some clouds, slightly obscuring the sun, fills the cloud in. A husband walks in and stands by her. She shoos him away. A wife stands by her. The husband comes back in and stands on the actor’s other side….Actor shoos them away. A dog joins the actor. The actor fills in the sky. She stands in the house. Fills in the house. Play ends as the actors flip the picture around to be viewable in full color to the audience.
