Watching U Watching Us
One of the staple performances of The Ligature Project is the show Watching U Watching Us. This this show is based off of the ideas of the Neo-Futurists. Have any idea of what that is? Need a refresher? Essentially, it's theatre that doesn't distance yourself as an audience member from the events happening onstage. There are very rarely any characters, and if there are, you are always concious that they are actors portraying characters. It's very honest theatre. Audiences also choose the play that they watch, which can be as short as can be conceived. Many of the plays under the "Short Scripts" topic are made for this show, and many range between 30 seconds to a few minutes. Here are some very helpful links on Neo-Futurism:

The idea of Watching U Watching Us is that we can emulate this type of show on the internet. We create a wide variety of internet plays, which is set up in a manner that the audience chooses them at random. Very little focus on characters, and alot of focus on making original work the defies and explores the boundaries set up by us on what a play is. The fact that we're doing this on the internet is an example that we believe that we can take theatre away from any stage as we have conceived.
Want to be involved? Read the plays in the "Short Scripts" topic. If you want to act in one, or direct in one, set it up and go at it. Then email me the product. By all likelihood, it'll be put up in the show. Also, we can NEVER have too many plays for this show, so if you are a writer, want to try it out, or just have something you want to express, post your project up on the "Short Scripts" topic. Maybe a couple of directors would like to take a crack at your work, or maybe others will have another way to interpret your message. If you want a workshop on your play, express so in your topic post, and we'll schedule a time and a place to do it.
Just remember-- there is no limitation to the creativity that you can put into this show. I hope you all enjoy the process!
